Monkey Baa is bringing Where is the Green Sheep? to the stage

šŸ‘ Weā€™ve been waiting to share this news! šŸ‘Ā

We are so excited to announce something weā€™ve been working on for over a yearā€”Monkey Baa is bringing Where is the Green Sheep? to the stage!Ā

Based on the beloved book by Mem Fox and Judy Horacek, Where Is the Green Sheep? is an immersive visual theatre experience for young audiences aged 1-6. The work is written for the stage and directed by our Artistic Director, Eva Di Cesare.Ā Ā

This is a big new step for usā€”a co-production with Queensland Performing Arts Centreā€™s Out of the Box, in association with Arts Centre Melbourne, The Sydney Opera House, and The Art House Wyong. We are celebrating these incredible partners who are helping make this show happen!Ā

Blending puppetry and animation, this beautiful production invites young audiences to join our three farmers on their quest to find the elusive green sheep. Co-created with students from Bankstown West Public School, this delightful production integrates their voices as narrators, ensuring the work resonates deeply with young audiences.Ā

"So many young people have grown up with Where is the Green Sheep?, and itā€™s thrilling to bring this beloved book to life on stage. The playful language and whimsical world that Mem Fox and Judy Horacek created have been a joy to adapt for theatre. We canā€™t wait for audiences to experience the magic in a whole new way."
