Monkey Baa supports a First Nations Voice to Parliament

Monkey Baa Theatre Company respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of this nation and honours their continued cultural and spiritual connection to the lands, waters, and seas. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, on whose land we work, live, and share stories.

Based in Sydney, NSW, we specifically acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the unceded land on which we work.

We recognise that these lands have been a fertile ground for storytelling for countless generations. Sovereignty was never ceded, and we stand in solidarity with First Nations people and communities, today and always.

As a theatre company committed to equity and inclusion, Monkey Baa supports the Uluru Statement from the Heart which calls for Voice, Treaty and Truth. We say YES to a Voice to Parliament in the coming Referendum on 14 October. We believe a First Nations-led Voice is integral to building a nation that is inclusive and respectful to all citizens.

With the referendum approaching, we invite everyone in our Monkey Baa community to engage in this important issue. We encourage active participation by listening, learning, and attending performances by our brilliant First Nations artists.
