Step back to the Australian Gold Rush of 1857 and explore resilience, transformation and self-discovery.

In this dynamic workshop, students will immerse themselves in the compelling world of Yong, the story of a young boy’s journey to the Ballarat goldfields with his father. Guided by our professional Teaching Artists, students will use role-play, storytelling, and historical exploration to bring Yong’s experiences to life. Through hands-on activities, they will connect with themes of family, duty, and resilience while gaining insights into Australia’s history.

Each one-hour session is designed for students in Years 5 to 8, offering an engaging and educational experience that builds empathy, critical thinking, and creative skills. Workshops can accommodate up to 30 students at $15 + GST per student, with a minimum charge of $300.
